Why is sales tax included on my order?

In the past, K&J Magnetics only charged sales tax for orders shipping to Pennsylvania. Since the recent South Dakota v. Wayfair decision by the US Supreme Court, we are now required to collect sales tax in several states.

What if I should not be charged sales tax?

Businesses can be exempt from sales tax for a variety of reasons. For example, if a business is purchasing an item for resale, they may not have to pay sales tax. Follow these steps to setup a Tax Exempt login account:

1. Create an account on our website. You will need to confirm your email address as part of the account creation process.
2. Send a copy of your tax exempt certificate to salestax@kjmagnetics.com.
3. After we review your submission (allow 3-5 business days), you will receive an email confirmation of your account's Tax Exempt status. After this confirmation, all Tax Exempt purchases MUST be placed through this login account.

Please wait until you receive this confirmation before trying to place a tax exempt order online. We are not able to retroactively remove sales tax from an order.
