Why won't my magnet stick to my whiteboard? - A magnet loses pull force over a gap such as magnetic whiteboard coating or the thickness of the magnetic glass. The gap will increase more if paper, photos, etc. are added between the magnet and steel. Low friction can also cause a magnet to slide down.
